New Album FYC š Mark Pritchard and Thom Yorke - 'Tall Tales'

Sometimes you get what you want and what you need. But always, when you arenāt asking for it.
Thatās one way of introducing the new Thom Yorke album created with Mark Pritchard.
āTall Talesā was released May 9, 2025 on Warp Records and on this music heads journey into a new world of electronic music where Thomās vocals reign supreme, and this means strangely good things are happening.

Everyone knows Thom Yorke but Mark Pritchard is a bit more obscure. Seasoned heads recognize him as part of the pre-EDM dance music duoās Global Communication. For those seeking a little backdrop, Global Communcationās Fabric 26 here as it helps set a scene the varietals of sound and rhythm that Mark pulls into āTall Talesā.
Early fan favorites from āTall Talesā are āThe Spiritā and āThe White Cliffsā.

āThe Spirit (Official Music Video)ā is one of the early favorites. Visually treated by artist Jonathan Zawada for a stunning music video.
Thom and Mark first started collaborating on arrangements that would eventually become āTall Talesā back in early COVID days. According to the tale, Mark kicked things off by shipping Thom some mp3s.
About the world of āTall Talesā from the label:
Fabled English record producer Mark Pritchard, luminary songwriter Thom Yorke and groundbreaking visual artist Jonathan Zawada present Tall Tales ā a debut collaborative visual and audio cinema experience a decade in the making. Landscapes of synth-pop, prog, dub, 70s synth, Joe Meek, Ivor Cutler, Library, kraut and classic Warpā¢ļø ā Tall Tales sounds like musicians meeting in the Hinterland. Transmitted by Australian visual artist Jonathan Zawada, Tall Tales is a fairy tale for the modern world; depicting rising tides, kings & queens, amazon logistics and robotic arms under iridescent skies. We wanted computers to do our accounting ā instead, they try to paint our pictures and sing our songs. Like all good fairy tales ā this work edges light with the dark as Thom's echoed chants intertwine with Mark's shimmering electronics. On Tall Tales, we hear seasoned musicians continue down the path of experimentation. A prophetic visual album, Tall Tales has been years in the making, but delivered right on time. Thankfully for fans who appreciate an artistic video to help tell an album story, āTall Talesā arrives with four visual treatments (as of this post) by artist Jonathan Zawada. These videos do not feature Mark or Thom but do fully hit the mark as it relates to bringing the music of āTall Talesā to life.
